Editor example Time inputs

Time fields can be augmented by the datetime field type to add a GUI widget that can help users enter data. All that is required is that the format option be set to the format required and it will automatically detect what elements it should display.

In this example the two time columns use different formats (you wouldn't do this normally, but it is useful for this example!) - the Shift start field uses a 12 hour clock with an AM/PM selector, while the Shift end field uses a 24 hour with seconds. The formats are defined by momentjs which must be included for the datetime field type to operate with time formatted strings.

The Javascript shown below is used to initialise the table shown in this example:

            { extend: 'edit',   editor: editor },

    } );
} );

In addition to the above code, the following Javascript library files are loaded for use in this example:

Editor submits and retrieves information by Ajax requests. The two blocks below show the data that Editor submits and receives, to and from the server. This is updated live as you interact with Editor so you can see what is submitted.

Submitted data:

The following shows the data that has been submitted to the server when a request is made to add, edit or delete data from the table.

// No data yet submitted

Server response:

The following shows the data that has been returned by the server in response to the data submitted on the left and is then acted upon.
